Yeah...I've read that book too and I've also produced a couple of Crested Geckos. Where the book says 68-82, that's exactly what it means...not "high 60's to low 70's." The difference you're obviously not noticing there is that the author's eggs get up to 82 degrees at times, whereas your eggs are not being allowed to get that warm. If the eggs get up to 82 during the warmest part of the day and then back down to 68 at night, they're going to hatch in 70-75 days.
You said yourself that your eggs aren't getting any warmer than the low 70's, so you can't logically expect them to hatch anywhere near as soon as eggs that have been allowed to get up to 82 degrees on a daily basis.
Like I said before, I don't know that I'd even expect them to hatch at all if kept that cool all the time.

>>I checked the rhac book and going by them my temps are fine. The book states 68-82. It also said at these temps it can take 70-75 days to hatch. The egg that was dead did not look good. It was bumpy on the bottom and very thick inside. The other egg is perfect, and is bigger then the other.

When people say that they incubate their ciliatus eggs at "room temperature," you have to bare in mind that most people keep their reptile rooms in the mid 70's to low 80's.

>>>>At this point, I would probably just leave the egg alone, but it's a toss up. Incubation time can vary greatly from one egg to the next, so you may cut the egg open and find a very small, immature baby gecko...then again, it may be fully formed and already dead in the egg.

>>>>>>I had two crested eggs layed 79 days ago. Well on was getting indented and just not looking good so after much debate I cut it open. Inside was a perfectly formed gecko, dead. No yoke let. The egg looked as if it was too thick for it to get out. Well, now I have another egg layed on the same day by the same female. It still looks good. Bigger then the dead egg. But now I am wondering if I should slit this egg to and help this little guy out. I don't want it to die, so..... Any advice on what to do. Should I wait or should I slit the egg. They where incubated at room temp, high 60's low 70's. Help please.
