problem with eggs

DAVO Aug 06, 2004 12:08 PM

Some of my crested gecko eggs go to full development, and even pip. But the babies are dead. I have tried cut the egg carefully to help the baby but nothing. For some reason they're dead. I also get very healthy ones too. Incubated the same way, on moistend perilite at around 72-78 deg. I feed the parents mostly calcium dusted crickets, and sometimes apricot baby food.
Please help, thanks in advance Dave

are you using an actual incubator? both of my friends had eggs in an incubator and both of them said the eggs went bad on them, and they incubated them at the right temp, however, with the next batch, they both boot them in plastic containers with some moistened vermiculite with a few holes in the container, and just put them on a shelf out at room temp, and they hatched out perfectly.

that is what I am doing too, mine are just sitting on a shelf in my room at room temp, since they aren't being incubated the vermiculite stays moist, and the eggs hatch out.
