SO FRUSTRATING trying to get into this show!

dmlove Aug 06, 2004 02:48 PM

Alright, easy as pie to reserve a booth, but because i live in kentucky, and the show is in Ohio (All ohio reptile show in columbus) I need a CVI (certified veterinary inspection). I said alright, so i went to my vet in ohio (i geuss bad choice of mine) and i paid 40 dollars for them to give me the CVI and inspect the babies (btw all healthy!) Well i came home, and had to call the agricultural department of Ohio to get my permit # ...but the CVI that my vet gave me was supposadly not valid and not issued by the state, and anyway, they couldnt issue a kentucky CVI, so that was my fault. So i called my kentucky vet, and they had no clue what the heck i was talking about, so i geuss im just 40 dollars in the hole and not going to the show. Im going to try to call the KY agricultural department and see what vet in Northern Kentucky has these papers so i dont waste my money anymore, im just so frustrating, this has not been a good experience, my first show and im so confused and frustrated. UGGHGH. Sorry, just had to vent, im not even sure if ill get into the show, rrr.
Well cya

Hey,

I contacted my vet who cant do it, but they referred my to David Stricker in Cincinnati, OH. I called him and he said he is qualified to write a Health Certificate for Ohio and Kentucky. He wasn't sure what exactly you needed.

He said if you wanted to get a form from the show (if one exists), he should be qualified to sign it.

I didn't talk about price or anything but he sounded very knowledgable.(sp).

You should call the Dept of Agriculture and find out SPECIFICALLY what you need for your permit. Then call Dr. Stricker.

Good luck and let me know if you need me. don't give up!
