another clutch laid today!

apeilia Aug 06, 2004 10:32 PM

I know, everyone's seen enough of this already! This was my first year seriously trying to breed my snakes, so I'm pretty happy.

My second female laid her eggs today. I'm still waiting for the first ones to come out of the eggs (they are on day 60 now) - the eggs are cut and they're moving around, but nobody wants to come out yet. It's pretty good timing though. I'm leaving the new eggs with mom until I can use the incubator. It looks like maybe at least 7 good eggs, from what I can see! I don't want to stress her out now just to look at them...

Congrats! One of these days I'll be doing the same happy dance... when I have enough room to breed them and care for them all properly...

Hey.. a girl can dream, right? LOL

Seriously. Congrats on the clutches. May they all hatch healthy babies for you.

Get rid of the cats. That will free up some space and time that you could spend with the balls.

Ah... moving the cats out wouldn't change much in the way of space. We only have a 2 bedroom apartment, on a second floor. LOL

Pretty ball, btw. ^.^

I understand, My wife won't let me get rid of her cats, she claims I already take up to much space,
12.13 balls
3.2.20 columbian boas
1.1 peruvians
1.1.10 demurils
1.3 carpet pythons
0.1 gtp

You could always ditch the wife then you would have more space!!!

Can't get rid of the wife. I do the breeding and her and my daughter run my tables at the shows for me. I love to breed them and talk about them but I just don't have the nack for the sales. Seems like the guys would rather buy from a good looking girl than from me. LOL

Congrats!!!! How many between both clutches? You've got to love it when they start sticking thier heads out.

There are 6 good eggs in the new clutch, and 5 hatching in the first one. I don't think any look like daddy so far though...

I'd post pics, but I'm a bit slow because I still have to develop them - I don't have a digital camera.

You said they don't look like the daddy? What's the daddy?

apeilia Aug 08, 2004 03:24 PM

I don't have great pics - I still take them the 'old fashioned' way, but my roommate has an old digital. I'll remember to get the pics on disk next time I develop some.

Here he is with a totally different female. He's the dark granite one. He's freshly shed here. I wasn't expecting it to be a simple thing to breed out, I just like how he looks. Again, sorry about the quality - they wouldn't hold still either.
