You're in trouble. Cali doesnt give out permits easily from what I hear. You need two years documented full time experience under the hands of a trained professional, like at a zoo. From what I hear, I dont think they give permits to private collectors but to zoos or similar organizations only. If you hop on their website, go to permits and to restricted species, there should be a number to contact through.

If you are looking to collect native venomous, be sure to check local laws. Cali doesnt restrict them but LA county does, so I cannot keep them. Good luck on your quest for venomous.

Native venomous means the rattlesnakes that you can catch in California. Rhinos are from overseas and therefore outlawed in the state of California and you can garantee heafty fines and possible jail time if you are caught with one. As far as rattlesnakes, you have to check county and city laws too. In LA county, where I live, you cannot keep native rattlesnakes. However, just down the road is a town in Kern county, and if I lived there I could keep all of the rattlesnakes that I could catch.
