Viper Boas?

Elwood54 Aug 07, 2004 05:11 AM

Hi,

I've been interested in getting this snake for some time now. It is unfortunate that such a beautiful snake is tempermental, but I hope to intend to tame it down a little bit by buying a juvenile. My problem is --- the local pet shops here don't carry this animal, and it's been hard to find a place to buy one. I have never ordered over the internet before, but maybe someone can point me out to a good source to buy the Viper Boa (C. Aspera).

I'd appreciate any help, thanks!

Hi
Nowdays its about a 60/40 split on the temperments of the Viper boas. Mine was extremely nasty while a friend of mine has one that is very tame. There are a few breeders of these boas with a few more new people breeding this year. In Kingsnakes "other boas" for sale classifieds you can find quite a few for sale. I believe any of the dealers you see there are OK to buy from. I have a site that you can go to and also post this question. We have a couple of people I know will have Vipers soon.Heres my site http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ pacificislandboas
You can also check out Jerry Conways site for info. It is listed in Kingsnakes "care sheets" area. I say buy the Viper and enjoy something different in the world of pink, orange and yellow snakes. You will become hooked on all Candoia
