incubating eggs???

jimbat Aug 07, 2004 08:19 AM

I hope you guys don’t mind. I posted this on both king and milk forum, hoping to get a few responses

. OK Guys my eggs have been incubating for 65 days at 78 to 82 degrees averaging about 80. Here’s a photo of the eggs taken today. I’m starting to get a little worried, at what point should I really be worried, and at what point would you guys consider cutting open one of the eggs??

Thanks Jim Baptista

I wouldn't get worried until after 70 days. They should be good.

Thanks Kerby The eggs are plump and candle good. I kind of figured around 70 days with an avarage temp of only 80 degrees. I was just getting a little nervous.
Thanks again

Jim, mine rarely hatch in 60 days. Since my room gets into the 70's at night and mid 80's during the day time, my eggs hatch between 65-72 days.

The only exception was a wc milk from Kansas that layed eggs on me, and those hatched in 53 days.

at 80 degrees your eggs could easily go 70-80 days before pipping. They look super healthy...be patient my man and you'll be rewarded with the healthy and fat hatchlings.

I've been very worried before and cut eggs open at day 60 only to have to wait another 10-15 days for snakes to leave the eggs.

Go for a long run or find something other to do than look at those eggs. I've been incubating all my eggs this summer at 84 and they are going right up to 60 days before pipping. At 80 you should expect longer incubating times.

Good luck,
Russ
