Question on dry eyelids

Tortuga Aug 07, 2004 09:32 AM

I have two leopard tortoise hatchlings and I'm having a problem with they're eyes being too dry to open up easily. I was wondering if I need to add some humidity or just continue to add "turtle drops" to their eyes to aid them in opening for feeding.

For leopards is a basking spot of 100 degrees too hot for them?

Any help would be appreciated.

The basking spot is great.

I would suggest a humid hide if you don't have one set up already.

Could a humid hide be as basic as one of the half log hide spots with peat moss? Then spray the peat moss with a little water each day to creat the humidity?

Thanks

The only caution is to make sure it is warm.
The benefits seem to be fantastic.
