Calcium citrate for igs??

Flavia Guimaraes Aug 07, 2004 10:28 AM

A friend of mine bought in a local petshop a male ig that didnt have a leg.Besides that he has MBD and is very small for his age!The local vet prescribed him soy protein (isoflavone) mixed with calcium citrate. My friend asked me whether it was ok to give him that.Do you think its ok?

When I got my ig and he had MBD, the vet got us a prescription for calcium glubonate (gluconate?) I would be leery of using petstore fix-its when there are so many different types of calciums. Remember though, you cant go wrong with sunlight several hours a day too
