lookin for opinions. thanks scott
It looks a lot more like a Great Basin Gopher to me. Do you have any locality on where it came from. Some patterns on the body are simular to Sonoran but that doesn't necessarly mean anything i've seen them on deseticola as well
west texas is all i know very light much more tangerine then i have ever seen, many out here none ive seen like her. thanks for the info though
If its from texas I'm way off in the night about the Great Basin possability. In west texas you are most likely to have Sonoran, Sonoran x bullsnake intergrade, or a bull snake.

It looks a lot like this male that has found his way to my house, supposedly of a lineage near the New Mexico border east of El Paso. I didn't get his tail in the photo, but it is fairly orange. He almost certainly has some sonoran blood if not actually more than the bullsnake.
we need to hook those two up! mines a female thaought to be a mexican bull and sonaran intergrade very very tangerine second half of the body.
in Chaparral, NM, and I caught a snake that looked just like that trying to rob some of my mice about a month or so ago. I gave him to someone on the east side of El Paso that sells them. The one I caught was about 3 feet or so. I really regretted letting him go. He was gorgeous. Then three days later a yearling stopped by to rob me and now he is my pet. I was told that these can't be pure bulls because it's too far west, but instead are either pure sonorans or intergrads (sp). Where are you located? Did you get yours from someone named Roy? Just curious.

I've had him for a couple of years. I got him as a trade and I've been trying to figure out what to do with him. He came from a line maintained by a breeder in Alberta Canada, so he is captive bred. His locality data seems right, especially due to your information. Thanks for the post!
I used to live in Texas myself, in San Angelo. Our bulls there look very different from these. They are rather plain looking with subdued colors. Pretty large difference over a relatively short distance...
If you'll go to the second page of this forum and then to July 1st, there are three pictures of my baby that were posted by Herphobbyist. Sorry bout the quality. Ancient camera. With yours being so old, it's definately not the one I caught. LOL. He's gorgeous.

Yeah, I see what you mean. Remarkable resemblance. I'll try to get a better picture of him that shows his whole body.
I dig the red in the tail. i personally really like the bull/sonoran intergrades, and have a pair of w/c's that are really nice looking.
where is this one from??
