My first litter.........story with not pics.

miba8055 Aug 07, 2004 03:59 PM

Today, my female het albino gave birth to 14 live, 4 sweet potatoes, and one still born.

Here is the break down:
4 albinos
2 hypos
9 66% poss hets

I had 2 males in with my female. One was a hypo 50% het albino and the other was a het albino male. I believe that both males did their deeds??? I think that the hypo is not het albino because I didn't get sunglows. Does anyone know the chances of hypo het albino X het albino not producing sunglow?

Anyways, I'm very excited since this was my first litter. I feel like a million bucks. Good luck to everyone and their projects.

Yellow babies at that !
It is "possible" to breed a salmon het albino to a normal het albino & produce no sunglows, especially in a small litter with not many yellow animals to begin with.
The numbers have been cruel & kind at different times.
Hopefully they will be in your favor next time

Your chances of getting a Sunglow was about 12.5%, or 1 out of 8. Looks like the odds were not in your favor but congrats on your sucessful litter!!!!
