What is the cheapest way to treat shell rot on red eared sliders? Does Epson salt work?

A little late, but for future reference. Keep the turt in a dry warm dry box for most of the day and night. Let her soak and eat for about a half hour a day, or twice a day if you like. Make a povidone Iodine solution by puting a little iodine in a bowl and then adding water until it is a light rosy color, swab this generously on the shell, and let her dry. when spots get loose and dry, pull them off. Advice from my vet, and other turt owners.
