Interested in getting a monitor...

asilaydining Aug 08, 2004 12:04 AM

I've been interested in getting a large(r) lizard.. I have leopard geckos and a ball python now. I like how everyone is describing the personalities of Akies.. I want a monitor that is fairly docile/able to be tamed, that won't get stressed from a lot of handling, and won't get HUGE. I was looking at a B&W Tegu for a while, but a minimum 4 by 8 foot enclosure is way too big. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

You won't go wrong with an ackie. They are a neat little package all the way around. Small size, most under 24", not afraid, inquisitive, friendly and easy to keep. My ackies were my first monitors and I must say they were everything I could ask for in a little monitor. There are quite a few small monitors to choose from, but the ackies are cb and readily available. Good luck!
