Does anyone know what a tiny bleach-white lizard that I saw on Mustang island off of Corpus Christi might have been? It was really small, about 1" Snout/Vent length. Maybe some kind of a Fringetoed Lizard? I found it on a white sand dune covered in brush.

The lizards that roam around on Mustang and South Padre Island are usually Keeled Earless Lizards, Holbrookia propinqua. That would be my best guess. If you go to any of the dunes up and down Padre you will see a bunch of these lightning quick lizards. They usually just appear as a blur. If you want to look at one close chase it around out in open sand for about 5 minutes, as they tire very easily. I lately tire much quicker then them. Good luck.
