No. Using a shed is very incorrect, because they stretch so much. You'd think incorrectly that you have a huge cornsnake, when it could be many inches shorter.

well i held mine liek a few inches from teh end on it and let it hang dwn 2 the floor and when it toches the floor mark sometihn on your shirt and measure from teh mark to the floor thats what i did and it came out pretty accurate

I tried doing this...but my snake wouldn't cooperate, instead he just crawled up over it's own length back onto my arm. The only time I get an ideal of his length is when he's stretched out in his cage. I know the cage is 3 feet long and since he is longer than that, I estimate my corn is about 4 feet long. He eats adult mice like they are nothing and is out prowling around for more two days after I feed him.

I measure mine as they crawl across the floor (with a standard handyman tape measure) or when I see them stretched out in their cage I'll grab a sewing tape measure (since they're more flexible).
