Building the perfect cage........ok maybe a really good cage

tredding Aug 08, 2004 03:11 PM

I currently have a 4 month old in a 10 gallon petshop special aquarium. It is hard to keep the humidity in with the screen top. I am working on designing a new aquarium. I am a furniture and cabinet builder by trade and am looking for some good suggestions. I will probably build something out of wood with a glass liner for cleaning purposes. Sliding doors from the front. Should I build an enclosure that will be large enough for when she gets full size? If what are some good dimensions? The way I figure balls are ground snakes so it should be wider and deeper than it is tall. What is you'r ideal size?

I built most of my own cages, sliding glass fronts, 2ft wide 2ft front to back and 12 to 14 inches tall. works well for adult balls. Would love to see what you come up with when you finish.
