WC Ca King laying eggs! Help

ron_xtreme Aug 08, 2004 03:21 PM

My snake is laying eggs, 4 so far. I currently have her in a 20 Gallon long tank with Desert Blend Lizard Litter. She has been eating well, I have a heating mat attached to the underside of the tank and the tank temp runs about 75 deg. She has a large natural hide that is over the heat mat AND cool area so she has a choice. She has been constantly in her water dish and that is where she is laying the eggs. The dish has maybe 1/8" water so I don't think that will be a problem? My question is what kind of substrate to use, what temp and humidity, how long to incubate, leave them with the mother or keep them seperate. Remember this is a wild caught snake. For a pic see Kingsnake forum, message Help from Caliherper (my wife). Thanks in advance.

Thanks for looking, but I think we have everything under control. Eggs in moistened vermiculite in a plastic box with ventilation, temp 74 to 82. We will be checking temp and misting vermiculite to keep moist not wet. Thanks!
