I have lots of questions and interest in Bull's. I'm wondering what it is like to keep one of these either as a pet or as breeder. How large do they grow? Can they reach 8ft? All of them of just some of them? I understand they are "hissers". But are they biters? Are they calm to handle? or are they always moving to get away? Are they apt to turn around and bite? How would you compare them to a 6ft Brooksi King? Are females more docile than males? Other way around? If I'm asking too many questions can you point me to a source for answers? Thanks to all.

I personally, along with most others on this forum love bulls. Some can reach 8 feet. Some of that has to do with locality and genetics. Some are on the smaller side reaching barely to 4 feet. Again this has some to do with locality and genetics. Most pituophis are hissers and bulls are certainly no exception. With handling and time this usually subsides only to return now and then with shedding among a few other situations. Some are quite calm to handle while others can be a bit flighty. I have examples of both. You generally get a fair amount of warning from a bull (huffing and puffing) before the bite comes. If a person does end up getting bit, he or she must not have been listening to the warning or decided to ignore it. I am not familiar with Brooksi kings so I'm not much help on a comparison there. I have not really noticed a difference in attitude between males and females with the exception of when the female is gravid. They tend to be a bit more jumpy as the date of laying eggs gets nearer. I hope that this helps out some. Take care!

And the Red Bull in your pic is stunning to say the least. Is the pic of a male or a female?

That is my crumbly line female. Take care!
