Personally I find that a great waste of a snake. Maybe I should be buying all of my snakes designer rodents and feeding horned and african bullfrogs red eye tree frogs. Hmmm.

That is a bit wasteful. All the same though it is interesting that a ringneck can out-ophidiophage one of the most notorious snake-eaters. What would you have done if the king tryed to eat the ringneck?

Thnx Mike 4 posting these. @ 15/ea wholesale & weighing 22.5 g that getulus represents regalis chow @ $300/lb!! Tell me... are these snakes are expensive to maintain??
These jpgs represent the first documentation I am aware of, that some regalis will respond to the scent/visual stimulous of a L. getulus [in this case f/t] and respond as a predator.
I have data for 3 other feeding trials between these species. The purpose of this experiment is to acertain insight into the likely predation heirarchy of the snake community, as well as to learn more about the diet of regalis.
Regalis certainly appears to be a formidable serpent predator in the SW leaf litter.
As the other squamates crawl about, living their lives, the continual trail of scent they leave behind likely represents a plethora of possibilities to those regalis lurking behind!

Looks to me like that cali was already dead when the ring neck ate it. I have NEVER seen any ring neck snake able to fend off a hungry cali king regardless of it's size. That cali would have fought the ring neck off no problems. King snakes are far more powerful then ring necks. Like another poster said, give that king a year and that ring neck wouldn't stand a chance!
I remember you posting a few other pics of snakes feeding on other snakes. You must get off on this or something.
I wish i could feed you to my dog just to see what would happen.
How big is your dog??
I bet he could beat it. It'd be interesting to find out. But isn't that the point of an experiments like that? Or of Mr. Fedzen's for that matter?
On a seperate note, I have no doubt that there are more cal kings around then regal ringnecks, both in the wild and captivity. His snake needs to eat. Shouldn't it eat something relatively common?

Seems like a waste of a desinger snake though, probably a CB one. I would have given it to a local school or some other institution if I was just going to feed it off. But I guess it isn't me, isn't it? Most likely it isn't even mikes pic. He just seems to go around and find and post random pics of stuff like this.

The pics are alittle clearer than most 'Fedzen originals' I've seen.

lol, did any of you happen to read regalringneck's post?? Those pics aren't mine, I wouldn't have fed the regal a snake that I could sell for alot of money. I'm not too good with the camera, that's a fact, but I have a few pics that turned out good.
