I've hatched corns myself in the past that were a little snubnosed looking, so it's not something I tend to worry about or consider when getting corns.
He does tend to lean towards looking like some jungle corns I've seen (some of the adult jungles I saw at the show were a similar golden colored to the father), but he isn't a cross I am told (what caught my eye was first glance going down the isle I caught a glance of the father in the display cage and was like.. is that a gopher cross...that is one monster sized snake LOL. His father is definitely a nice golden colored animal and was labeled as being an okeetee. The mother I was told is a normal okeetee and the breeding of the two produced what you see. The babies are certainly very eye catching and different to say the least when you see them on the table next to other baby corns. I am one who is very good at resisting temptation when it comes to corn snakes and the myriad of colors and patterns, but I just couldn't pass one of these up, especially with those glowing eyes (reminded me of a high red eastern milk I once had with dark red glowing eyes). That the mother is noted as being a normal okeetee, I don't expect the baby to turn out exactly like papa snake, but I certainly hope he retains a lot of that burgundy red in the blotches as it would stand out very nice against a dark yellow.
While a couple of the other babies had more interesting head patterns that were more to my liking than this little guy, his body pattern won me over. The side markings in several spots just reminded me to much of choppy / crashing waves on the water....hence the name Waverunner.
