what can you keep with anoles

janome Aug 08, 2004 07:41 PM

I posted a message on the anole forum with no replies...

My friends anoles have had babies so I took 2. Hopefully females. I have them in a 10 gallon tank right now since they are so small. About 2 inches. I was wondering what other lizards or frogs, toads I can keep with them in a community vivarium? My friend has a hugh enclosure they built with the adult anoles, a couple green tree frogs and firebelly toads. Are all these ok with each other? Her enclosure is like 5-6 foot tall.

I won't have an enclosure that large. Most likely a 20 gallon tall tank or something simular. Thanks for any replies...

dont mix your anoles until they attain a larger size.babies are more likely to stress out than an adult anole.wait till it is about 4-5 inches then put them with other lizards.here are some compatible species for your size terrarium.
house geckos
flying gecko
pigmy skinks
golden skinks
green tree frog

remember to alway quarintine any new animals before adding them to your community setup.set the new specimen up in its own aqaurium for about a month to make sure it has no parasites or diseases that could harm your anole.hope this helps
