ASK Jun 23, 2003 07:04 PM

This is a 50 Gallon Terarium, with 1 10-20 Gal UTH and another 5-10 Gal UTH on the same side as the lamp.
I M testing to see that the temp and Humidity stays stable before I get my Snake.
I have the light on a timer with 12 hour intervals

Did I forget anything?
Please let me know if this is ok

I would have at least 2 thermostats, one on the hot and one on the cold side. It would also be wise to get a temp gun to check how hot the uth's are getting. Otherwise, looks good. (I dont know about the bedding, looks kinda sharp, but I dont know for sure. You will be happier with disposable cage liner, a lot easier to clean, but not as ugly as newspaper)

Gosh, Sparke, you seem like a pain in the A** !!! In Belgium they call this a "mierenneuker". Am not going to translate it, but it has something to do with ants and making Love... Guess this is off topic and will be removed (sorry Kingsnake), but anyway, Sparke, you make reading this forum unpleasant with replies like these, (even if "sorry, it has been a long day" )... There, I've said it.

Opinions are like a** holes, everybody has one. You are entitled to yours, regardless of the fact that you completely missed the point. Substrates vary widely, and different herpers like different substrates. To say that someone will be happier with this over that substrate is arrogant, to say the least. I will tell people what I prefer, with the full knowledge that others will prefer yet something different. It is also arrogant of you to think that your post was better than mine in any way, shape, or form. Sorry you jumped to conclusions. Sorry you're offended. But it's your problem.

Why do you always have to be rude, sparke? You seem to be the one who starts stuff based on ONE poorly worded response to a question. If you ask me, YOU are the one who has a problem with people's opinions. I don't think he was trying to put anyone down regarding their choice on substrate, only making a suggestion. If you are looking to pick a fight, go to a bar or somewhere else that warrants that kind of action or words.

That's funny! I don't remember ever saying anything rude to you...guess you're just so bored that you need to take offense at something that was said to someone else. But, to be honest, sometimes I intend to say something a bit strong (I believe, even after the Patriot Act, I still have that right).

If you'll notice, I don't say things in "absolutes" in the forums, and I don't give "empty" compliments. I mean what I say and I say what I mean.

When someone asks about how to care for their new snake one day, then the next day they are dispensing information as if it were gospel, that bothers me. If I were to wake up blind one day, and I cried out for help, I would be awfully disappointed to find out that another blind man had come to my aid and tried to pretend as if he could see clear as day!

You don't have to agree with me, and I don't expect you to do so. I tell people what works best for me, as well as some of the alternatives that others have expressed works well for them. I don't pretend to know what any one person likes over any other, or that my way is the ONLY way. I expect others to do the same.

You don't have to like me, as you obviously don't. Should I pay rent for the space I've taken up in your head?

You don't have to read my posts. And if you tend not to like the things I have to say, I recommend you don't read them.

"Why do you have to be so rude?" What kind of stupid question is that? Why do you have to butt into a conversation you had no part of in the first place? Why is it that nobody had anything to say about me being rude until I apologized to someone for being rude to them (without anyone telling me I should, I might add!)?

Get a life!
