There are several "different" colors of red-albino blood pythons. This is, at least in part, because this breeding project, shared by several breeders, is based on several different wild-caught animals. In most albino projects (and other rare morphs, too) all of the animals with the rare appearance are descended from one or maybe two wild-caught animals. That's not so in the case of the red-albino bloods where several different-looking wild specimens have been imported since VPI got the first one in 1994.
Another reason is that blood pythons exhibit quite a range of natural variation in color and pattern, and when that variation is translated into this red-albino morph--which is a VERY colorful mutation to begin with--the resulting possibilities are endless.
All red-albino blood pythons are very beautiful, there's not a loser in the bunch. But this one particular lineage of red-albinos includes some of the most gorgeous pythons ever hatched. Take a look at this yearling, photographed just a couple of days ago. This is a realistic, unenhanced picture of this snake, and there are several pictures of older sibs that are posted in our galleries of blood pictures at VPI.com. These snakes are astounding!
