Bahamian Boas???

LloydHeilbrunn Aug 08, 2004 10:45 PM

I remember admiring these when I was a kid. They were pretty uncommon then, who knows now?

Are they ever offered in the trade?? I asked a guy at a show a couple of weeks ago who seemed to specialize in unusual boas(had a couple of other "island" boas, some very much $$$) but he acted as if he had never heard of them!

which is Epicrates striatus fowleri. Fosteri is exclusive to the Bimini islands. The Bahama Boa is usually regarded as Epicrates striatus strigulatus.

Interesting.I guess they are all related subspecies. The Bimini did not look like what I remember, the Berry/Andros a bit more so.I need to find a pic of the true Bahamas one to be sure.Thought I was told as a kid that the ones I saw came from Andros......Thanks.
