new to monitors

redneckboy Aug 09, 2004 12:51 AM

Hello everyone,

I have been into reptiles since I was a little kid and I know a lot
about snakes and some about lizards. I was wondering:

What is the smallest type of monitor?
How much would it be?
What size enclosure do you need for one?

If you can answer any of these questions thanx in advance.

Varanus brevicauda has the shortest Total Length of any species.
Varanus kingorum has the shorest Snout-vent-length of any species.

I keep varanus kingorum in a 3x2x2 enclosure.
I am unaware of their availability over there, sorry. I am from Oztralia

Hey Ral,

What's with the attitude man? Why are you out to insult the world?

I've think i've got a pretty good idea why you're so bitter.... Been hanging out at the beach too much lately? Got sand in the old vagina??? I hear that can make a person rather irritable.. Just take a couple of showers... you can pull through these difficult times, I know you can...Cheers bucko...

Measure approx. 7 and 1/2 inches when unsharpend. According to my friends in the A&P field, that'd be an inch and some bigger than average....

Not such a bad endowment, no?
