I just got a cage for my two chameleons, it's about 4 ft hight, 2ft long and 2ft wide. It's pretty big for them right now, and with all the plants and stuff..they'll never find those crickets..or will they? Does anyone have nay ideas about how i can feed them? Thanks

Need information to be of help. What type of chameleon, and what age and sex are they, and how long have you had them?. If you have had them for a while what were they eating. Concerned more about having two chameleons in the same cage as not a good idea as it they will be stressed by this. Can you supply more information?

I have the same issues - just went to the same cage size. I use to free range the crix - but know its a bit tough for the cham to find them. I ended up making a bowl from some square tupper ware which I cut the bottom out and replaced with the material I got from cutting up one of those lizard hamocks (green plastic mesh). This allows for water to drain out and its a lot nicer on the chams tongue then alum or steel mech, Some crix do hop out, but that at least gives the cham the opportunity to hunt. You can always break the legs off the crix too. I wedged it a few inches under his basking spot so he can see them easily. I have watched him eat from it and he is getting the idea pretty quickj that there is food in there. I put my silk and other worms in there as well - but put one or two on the branches.

You are housing 2 chams in one enclosure? Doesnt sound like a good idea to me unless they are male/female and get along.

I ordered a 5'Hx5'W'3'D cage the other day for my male veiled. I plan on building 2' high platorms that connect to the ground for teh crickets to climb around. I will be placing their food and water dishes there too so that they have extra incentive. This along with their habit of climbing things should place them closer to Victor. The only items I will limit to a feed dish is the various worm types.

I like it is highly beneficial to free range. Keeps them sharp and on the hunt and makes for a more active and healthy herp.

Where did you order a cage that big from?

Check out these simple feeding cups. They work out really well.

Thanks everyone, that helped a lot. Well..I got two chams for the big enclosure that i got, because it was so big, if they needed to get away from each toher, they easily could because of the size and amount of plants and vines there are. So far, they've been sticking together, side by side most of the time.
