Well they are all Hoggs =)

The F numbers are the generations.

I think it goes
F1 x F1 = F2
F2 x F2 = F3

IM pretty sure thats how it goes...but im confused about
F1 x Hog... does this = F1 offspring?

In it's true,or,intended usage is an abbreviated tag that is meant to be used to track decendants from a founding bloodline/geographic locality/possible genetic anomoly,etc...Let's say we could go to the Cayos de Cochinos, and, collect two boas...We don't know their exact relationship,(ie;siblings,"cousins",etc.) but, from their appearence, and, collection locale we presume they are both representatives of the same race...these are your "Parental generation representatives",or,P1...this sexual, founding pair are bred to produce a first generation combination,(first filial gen.,or,F1)...these are raised to maturity,a sexual pair is selected,and,bred...the resulting litter is tagged "F2"..."F3" would represent the progeny resulting only from breeding two of these newly tagged littermates to each other,(breeding an F2 to an indirectly related individual does not produce F3,even if the new addition expresses the same visual trait characteristics! if they're not directly related,a new filial connotation should be used...this is where the usage of this system goes awry when people who don't understand the significance of filial relationships begin applying it to "hypos",for example....breeding two first generation "hypos" from two different lineage sources does not produce "F2's",the addition of new genetic material negates the tagged lineage significance)...so to answer your question..."F3 Hoggs" should mean that they represent the third strictly line bred generation individuals from a single, original pair of founding animals that are,or,were presumed to be from that particular race,or,locality...hope this helps..."R"
