Help getting my Leos to switch to Mealies

AaronFromPA Aug 09, 2004 11:05 AM

Hello everyone,

I wondered if anyone had some tips on getting my Leos to switch to Meal worms and get off crickets. I do not want to stop feeding crickets completely I just want them to eal a bit of both. Currently I have had a dish of them in the cage for the last two days and I am pretty sure the ones that are missing have simply escaped the dish and not been eaten. I went last night without putting any crickets in the enclosure at all in hope that hunger would drive them to eat the provided mealies but with no luck. Anyone have some suggestions? THey know the mealies are there because they come out and look at them like I look at a stack of sardines...with disgust.

try placing them infront of the leos, and if the mealworms don't wiggle smash them on the head so that they do. Usually the movement may stimulate that feeding response.
