My gecko has unshed skin on almost all of his toes.

A friend gave me his unwanted gecko yesterday and i was looking at it today and he has unshed skin on his toes and layers of unshed skin near the pre-anal glands. The gecko also has no claws... i dont know if its possible for a leopard gecko to be declawed or if this is a result of the unshed skin becoming infected or cutting off the circulation. Any help explaining what i should do would be greatly apreciated.

Yes they can lose claws and even toes from unshed skin....You need to put that poor thing in a humid hide....(ziplock bowl w/ moss or paper towel sparyed w/ water)....I personally find moss works best but other people may think different.... It works well in the heated tank...spraying the sides of the tank to raise humity in the tank would help him also.

i was actually thinking about giving him... i think its a guy their is like 10 piecies of unshed skin in the area of the pre anal glands so i have a hard time guessing... i was thinking of giving him back and buying a baby... i sorta wanna raise one myself... i wouldnt make those kinds of mistakes.
