I posted almost the same message in the ball python forum but was told that maybe I should post it in here (thanks for the hint and advice) I have 3" heat tape that I am hooking up to thermostat controls and I wondered if anyone had put heavy guage aluminum foil over the heat tape and secured it in place with foil tape...I want to increase the area that gets heat. I was already told by one member that I should solder the clips to the heat tape and insulate it well before putting any foil over the heat tape. I also have the protective plastic clips as well. Any more thoughts?? Has anyone ever done a setup like this before? Is the extra foil a good idea or no? Thanks for any advice in advance.
