Which reputable Pit breeders will be at Daytona this year?

nomad627 Aug 09, 2004 03:40 PM

Hey, I was just wondering what trustworthy/reputable Pit dealers to be on the lookout for in Daytona. I will be there and purchasing something this year and I am hoping to find someone that has a vested interest in Pits and not just someone out there looking to make a quick buck. Somebody that can tell me about the snakes lineage and not just some b/s he pulled out of the air. Thanks for reading and see you in Daytona. Damon

Well, I will be a vendor this again this year.
I will have some pits, and I hope I qualify as a trustworthy/reputable Pit breeder.

Thanx

And I can't wait to see my new little "Golden" Hypo Pituophis c.sayi. Sure wish I was going to be there too. I wish someone would take a video camera and just make a documentary with interviews, and pics of the rare and difficult to find animals. I would certainly pay for a copy of such a video and I'll bet others would too. Hope all of you travelers will have safe journey's and lots of fun.

If somebody pays my airfare to the show, I will gladly shoot, edit, print, and distibute that video! Matter of fact, I've been looking for something to do now that my PBS gig is up.
Cheers!

Off the top of my head, I know a few that will be there that I have either purchased or know nothing but great things about.

John Meltzer/RJ Reptiles will have several locality pits. Everything I have purchased from him has always been flawless.

Jim/Home Grown Herps has a great reputation and always has very nice pits. I have always enjoyed talking pits with him each year and I know he is bringing some good stuff.

Suncoast, I always have seen with some northern pines and have always heard good things about.

Hope this helps!
Billy

John Cherry, Cherryville farms should have a GREAT selection.

Don Soderberg, South Mountain Reptiles, mostly corns will have some nice pits, too.

Both are super to deal with.

Jim,

Dude....you gotta stop it with that pic!!! I am about to have a nervous breakdown each time I see it!

Remember.....doing the right thing in life is a great thing. Handing me that snake in a nice pillowcase at Daytona will do wonders for me, and that will be a good thing to know.

LOL!

Augh! You by chance having that on display?

Hey Billy,
I'll be there with 2 unreal clutches of northern pines and a few locality bulls. I took a second look at those pines and am excited and think you will like what you see! See you in Daytona! John Meltzer

John..........I am looking forward to seeing those "unreal" northerns this weekend. As for reputable breeder's......John's northerns are as good as they get. I picked up a female from him in '99 that I thought was the best at that year's expo. Take a good look at his animals if you are considering a northern..........Pits rule.........especially northern's and jani..............Steve G.

Not this year, we usually try and go to the daytona show to see everyone, but I am tied up on a large job in Atlanta this year so will miss it and all the folks.
