Easy Cobra Maintenance

Here's one of our awesome male albinos set up with 2 containers with holes cut in them. Which ever one he is in when I need to clean, I just cover that container with another one. Easy and stress free. Our albinos from Bob Guerriere are both well mannered, easy snakes to care for.

Interesting idea

But to be honest the cage troubles me. I caught one of my California kingsnakes about that size who had most of his body squeezed through the glass. I don't use them now .

Thats a newer cage maybe yours had a larger gap. I keep the ends bolted closed tight and haven't had any problems for the past few years they have been in them. Of course I'll look again now that you mention it! Thanks

Beautiful snake but I have a concern/question in your method. How do you get a tight seal when placing the boxes together? These cobras can squeeze through the narrowest of cracks and I would hate to see you get hurt. I do like your simple set up which is the way to go when keeping elapids; I would recommend a heavier box that won't move as much when being used as a trap box (and have something where the hole can be sealed tightly or securely. Just my .02 but I do like what you have. Rob

I never work alone so one person holds a larger container on top while the other person cleans around it. We always wear gloves for what its worth. Thanks Rob I appreciate your comments.

Of how easy it can be to safely care for venomous snakes (if done properly). That isn't the only method I use but it has worked well with both monocles and forests.
