Put your gecko in a humid hide/box. You can use a tupperware container, cut a hole in it so that the gecko can enter and leave it, and put some papertowels in it then you dampen the papertowels with lukewarm water and place the container in your enclosure on the warm side. he or she should take it off on their own but if they don't just use a q-tip dipped in warm water to gently remove the skin after your gecko has been in the humid hide for about fifteen minutes.

should i force them to stay in the humid hide? I have one but it seems that all he does is sit next to it... he doesnt go in it.

When my leos have loose skin on their body, I use a tweezer (the ones used for contact lenses) to gently pull it off. If its on the toes, I would just wet my fingers to massage until the skin loosens, then you can pull it off for them if they don't do it themselves.
Make sure you give them a humid hide, they need it for shedding. Also, when trying to get 'old' skin off, make sure that the skin is ready to come off. There is a chance that the skin is still attached to the body.
thnx. My leo has a humid hide but doesnt seem to use it as i have stated earlier. I got him yesterday because sombody i knew didnt want him and didnt know how to care for him probably.
