Housing standing day geckos....

leoking182 Aug 09, 2004 08:52 PM

I may be receiving a pair of standing day geckos, and I was wondering if cypress mulch was appropriate for them as a substrate, and just some hides, and do they glue there eggs to something, like the side of the wall or do just like lay them in something moist like potting soil? Thank you.

My Standings seem to like the coconut bark or earth that you can buy from TRex.
They aren't gluers. I have found that a small nesting box fixed high in the cage on the cool side works best for successful laying. My female used to drop her eggs out, never had an unbroken one and now I have 2 clutches in the incubator and one "in the oven."
