ok so yea, i went to the fair today and you kow i've heard the horror stories about iguanas being at the fair but i nvr thought i'c actually see it, well anyways i went up to the stand i was with my g/f and mom, and my mom basically tells me that i can keep one if i win it, so i consider it for awhile, i talked to a couple of the ppl that won some there and told them about how big they get and such, but anyways, bottom line is i won one, i found the healthies one of the bunch, and headed home. i have her in a wire cage bout 1 cm wire, but yea, its equal to a 20 long, and i have a reptiglo 8.0 on her with a basking bulb, any extra suggestions? feeding

Where was this fair? Was this Howard COunty MD or another one?

Did you write a letter to the fair commission?

The state vet is sending two people to shut it down and Channel 2 may be covering the event.

If you plan on keeping it you have to change some things

First for caging i would move it into a glass cage.. it will help keep the humidity up which will aid in shedding.. for a cage i recomend at LEAST a 55 gallon to start and this will only last you about a year if the igg is cared for right... make sure you keep UVB on him and make sure he has basking temps of around 100* and keep the humidity at about 60%

For feeding
Feed him collard, mustard, kale, endive, escarole, swiss chard. you can add in some vegetables as well green beans, snap peas, carrots. add some fruit in as well banana, apple(no seeds), mango, blue berries..
Feed him at leat once a day and add calcium powder and multi vitamins to his food everyday.. also always have a bowl of water in teh cage try and make it big enough so he can soak in it so he can stay hydrated.. he also may decide to use it as a place to go to the bathroom.. which is a plus becuae it will be easier to clean..

I would sue a cage carpet on teh bottom of the cage.. they are easy to clean when dirty..
