They are not called king of snakes in North America for nothing, kingsnakes are truly a unique species. I wouldn't recommend anyone feeding another venomous snake, lizard, non-venomous snake, or live mouse to their kingsnake because there are definate risks involved as in with snake husbandry (temps, substrate, clean water, breeding, feeding, ect). In the pic I posted was an extremely large kingsnake at least 5 ft and over 7-10 yrs old, which had a incredibly strong feeding reponse to anything in its feeding container. I have 2 other kingsnakes that I would never try to feed anything live too. All my kingsnakes are puppydog tame to human interaction. This Sidewinder the large female California kingsnake is feeding on was found inside my garage one evening here in Arizona and my curiosity, fascination, and love of the kingsnake species led to putting the Sidewinder into the kings terrerium. Here in Arizona when I go herping I see quite a few pit vipers (Sidewinder and Rattlesnakes) and never once I have thought of using them as feeders before. My viewpoint on this is that what find in the wild should stay in the wild or I would be breaking the cycle set forth by the Creator. All snakes are sacred to me and blessing to observe in the wild.
Happy Herping,
