Hey,

I have had balls swallow bark in the past. If it was a small piece and your BP seems fine then I would not worry about it. If he/she swallowed a large enough piece that may have caused internal damage bring the snake to a vet. Chances are the animal will be fine. How old and what size is the snake. Also, how large was the bark?

he's a year and 4 months old. The bark wasn't that big, but it just doesn't seem right that he has a piece of bark in him right now.

he's just over 2 feet in length.

don't know the weight.

thx

Yeah, he is an established snake and not a hatchling. I think he will be ok as long as the piece of bark was small. Keep a close eye on him the next few days and if it would make you feel better never hurts to bring him to the vet.

I think he's ok.

Seems awefully small for an almost adult Male Ball Python. around 24 inches? They are around 15 inches when hatched right? I am not an expert so don't take my word as so. Just curious and wanting to learn as much as I can from everyone.

If the bark was small it will just pass when he craps. Thats why I don't like bark and multch. I have always used aspen or pine. It's small enough if swallowed not to worry.
