Heating Leos in Older House....

Aisha Aug 10, 2004 06:05 AM

I just found out I'm moving in a month from a small apartment to a large older house. I know the heating price in the winter is awful and I want to lower the temperure from 72 to 68 in the house. I have heat lamps and was planning to cover most of the screen lids with plexiglass to keep the heat in but is 68 still to cold? Has anyone else had a problem with that?

If you are using UTHs I don't see a problem. Wish I could cool my house to 68 right now. Baking down here in FL right now.

I also live in a very old house with horrid heating bills in the winter. I have several reptile with different heating needs and have never had a problem keeping the temps correct even with my house at 68. I just check temps often and use a combo of UTH's and heat bulbs if needed.
