Shipping from So Cal - PLEASE HELP

draco Aug 10, 2004 10:26 AM

Hi - I first posted this question on the Monitor Forum, but got NO response. Maybe someone here can help me. - I need to ship 2 Black Throats (4 feet) from southern California to the east coast overnight, I tried using DHL (that's how they were shiped to me - it was a bum deal, and I'm sending them back), but they wouldn't do it. I was informed that it was against the law to ship live animals through DHL, FED-EX, and UPS. I need to find another means of shipment (any ideas?) How about an airline? which one, how much? I've never done this before, I'm not a dealer, dont have any shipping contracts, or anything like that. I'm just a collector. Any info would realy help! Thank You

Hey there I have never shipped either but the one time I thought about it I ran into a lot of headaches. There are so many laws and rules governing the shipment of live animals it is crazy. You may have to suck it up and go to a pet store and have them ship for you. Of course therer will be a price involved that way but at least you know you are not breaking the law. Good luck to you.
