Please help me. I dont know if i should be worried...

I got my first leo on sunday from a friend who didnt want his anymore. When i got him i realised he had unshed skin on his toes and feet. I put him in a humid hide for about 20 minutes last night and used a moist Q-tip to remove the unsheded skin. My leo has lost almost all of his claws because of this im lucky that he didnt lose toes. But i noticed something wierd on his hind left leg shown in the picture. If the picture isnt working please go to the link.

Look to me like that animals whole bottom half of that foot is infected.....My opinion is he needs a vet asap....If he gets a bad enough infection it will kill him.

Hmmmmm well, I dont know what to tell you then....I'm just going off the pic...Animals of their size do not tolerate infection well....If it gets bad enough he may even need some kind of antibotic to help fight this off.....I hate to say this but I feel if cant take the animal to the vet....you should find someone who can....I understand people have different feeling and think just because its a lizard it doesnt need a vet....I feel all animals need vet care at one time or another and people should expect this when getting one....But this isnt really your fault since it was a rescue....Like the other person said keep it clean and dont let the hide dry out....spray the sides of the tank to raise the humidty level in the cage....this might help if he isnt staying in the hide....adding some artifcal plants to spray also helps to raise humdity.

Good for you for rescuing a neglected animal. It looks like his toes are falling off,you need to get him to a vet to make sure there is no infection. In the mean time, keep him clean and warm and make sure his humid hide doesn't dry out.

I think the "really long claw" you are seeing is his toe,if he had dry skin cutting off the circulation then the toe would dry up,get skinny, then fall off.

no,you cannot get her arrested.Try the neosporine, just make sure it doesn't have any pain killer like novacain in it.I also wouldn't mist the cage, excess humidity can make the infection worse. How is she acting?eating and pooping ok?is she active at night?Good luck and keep us posted on her progress.
