wormman.com?

rinoa05_1987 Aug 10, 2004 11:33 AM

has anyone purchased feeders from this site? i need to find someone that sells worms by 500's because 100 is just too much. i have to throw half of them. i checked grubco and flukers and neither of them sell by 500's so anyways is wormman.com a good place to purchase feeder insects from? thanks for any advice and help.

I got an order of 500 from them. My only complaint was the time it took to ship. Once shipped however my order came quickly and in good condition.

I'd go with reptilefood.com. They seem to have really good feeders and they ship promptly. And their prices are really good too.

My colony started from 3000 mealworms that I bought from wormman.com. I had no problems, but as stated they do not ship very fast. I think it took 6-7 days after paying for them actually to mail.

I don't understand why you have to throw them away? How are you keeping them? Go to a feed store and get you some unmedicated layer crumbles/mash for real cheap and raise your own worms. Costs me about $2.50 every 2-3 months (after the $5 I spent on containers) to purchase 10lbs of feed.

i keep them in the fridge. most of them are turning to puepas and i can't handle bugs. i'm one them girls that goes EWWW GROSS ITS A BUG! i handle them with tweezers so thats how i can handle having a leo. i'm trying to get over that icky bug thing but its going to take quite awhile and even so theres no way my dad will let me have a worm colony. and i'm not actually gonna throw them in the garden i'm going to toss them in my back yard behinde the garage where the sparrows hang out so they can eat the worms and beetles.

Matt...can you please post some instructions on how to raise your own mealworms? I am preping to breed and farming my own mealworms will help keep down teh cost. If I can do this I will buy an old used fridge and raise them too.

wormman.com may take a little longer to ship but their prices are $15.50 for 1000 crickets.

www.reptilefood.com is $18.00-$19.00 if you factor in shipping

Ive been ordering from wormman.com for 2 years now and very happy

And let me tell you, that place sucks for many reasons. They're not the worst, but they're not the best either.

grubco.com and superwormfarm.com have better quality feeders, better shipping, and faster service.

grubco only offers 1000 and up. superworm ends up being too pricy. i spent less than that for 1000 through flukers.

Flukers has caused trouble for some people as far as selling disease-carrying feeders. Wormman.com has also fallen under some suspicion, but it hasn't been confirmed with lab reports as far as I know.

hey xelda is there anywhere else you would suggest? i really can't pay alot for worms right now because i'm jobless but i don't want to be feeding my little guy diseased worms, that would not be fair to him. thanks for the help. and thanks to the moderator for not flipping out at me because i can't use the search engine properly.
