crested gecko breeding trouble....

chrismartin Aug 10, 2004 01:57 PM

hey i have 2.2 crested geckos that i am trying to breed. they are adults and are putting on weight like mad. right now i have the 2 females in with my orange male and i have not seen any activity. what else should i do to help them do it. i mist the cage every night befor the lights go out. and keep this temp at a cooler level at like 68-75. i keep them in a vision cage(not sure what model). do i cool them? any breeding tips would be greatly appreciated.
thanks so much
chris

. . . like you, I kept my rhacs in tht upper 60's to middle 70's - but I didn't have much breeding action. I heated them to 80 degrees (basking spot), and they have been producing now. In my case, I think the extra "tad" of heat helped.

I'm fortunate that I keep my rhacs in screen cages, so heating is a snap - add a 40 watt bulb to the top.

Hope this helps. Good luck
