i'm a first timer at hatching, and i'm wondering how soon after hatching corn snakes will; one, shed for the first time and two, when they usually eat their first pinky. i'm having trouble finding web resources with this kind of information. thank you!

Spangles,

Baby corns usually have their first shed, 5-7 days after they leave the egg. Many people will wait until this first shed to offer the first meal. Some will feed right from the egg. I personally feed after they've had their first shed.

Hi,
We're new to snake keeping as well as looking after hatchlings. Our clutch was a surprise after we'd only had our very first snake 4 days!
Our new babies started to hatch last Monday (2nd). The first 2 shed on Friday, and both of them fed on Sunday. Just waiting for the last 4 out of the egg, 2 of which have pipped! Seems to be taking ages!

Hope this helps.....

So let me get this straight...you have your snake 4 days and it lays a clutch of eggs! Wow, that's cool! Talk about "thrown into the fire"
