i saw a pic of someone's rat breeding setup and they were housed in big plastic bins.... can't they chew their way out? and would you suggest housing rats like this?

i'm not sure what you mean by plastic bins.many people use plastic cement mixing tubs which are perfectly smooth on the inside so there is no place for the rats to start chewing.have fun!
