Copperheads are a pit viper, they are venomous and are illegal to own in a lot of states. Only an expert should own any type of venomous reptile. While the copperhead's bite is generally not fatal it has been known to cause serious pain and illness but with any venomous animal, including insects there are some people who are alergic to the venom and have a fatal reaction to it.
I know you are young and if you are considering a venomous animal I suggest you get a non-venomous snake that is generally regarded as nasty first like a Black Racer or a Emerald Tree Boa. Treat it like a venomous snake,if you get tagged ONCE then you better think two even three times about owning a venomous reptile. Then you have to consider anti-venom if bitten and have a snake bite kit on stand by,and if you need anti-venom the outrageous hospital bill that follows. Your insurance will not cover a snake bite from a PET.
i was just wondering i hate poisinus snakes they freak me out
