good surprise this morning....

shaneo Aug 10, 2004 08:47 PM

On my way out the door this morning, I almost tripped over a small kritter keeper style cage with this little guy in it. It had a note saying he was a two year old leopard gecko.

Doesn't look like any of my leopards, and he's very small for a four year old.

Can anyone identify what he is? Pictures are at:

He's always willing to bite, and screams when you get near him.

Thanks in advance!

I would say Coleonyx mitratus

I second that. The behavior matches as well.

OMG!!! that little one's starving!!!! yea thats a leo. looks severly underweight. the hostility is most likely due to neglect.
you probibly already know this but whatever you do don't put him with your leo's till he's been vet checked and quarentined.

No mistaken it, thats a central american banded gecko. Not too bad of shape tails not to thin. They like a humid setup. But there is no doubt that it is a banded gecko I have four of this kinda actully and two is not all that old, considering my oldest turns 7 this year and is still breeding.

I would say that it is a Coleonyx elegans.
