and it's a tiny one! It was a clutch of 5 eggs that were stuck together - the top one collapsed early on and was at about half the volume of the original egg for the incubation period. Well, that little one survived and hatched out first. It's so small - 27g and about 9 inches, maybe? It's hard to tell the length. It looks rather dehydrated and wrinkly, so I don't know how well it'll do. It's day 63, and I'm STILL waiting for the other four to come out. They are moving around, but they haven't poked their heads out yet. How much of the yolk is normally left in the egg after the babies hatch?
I took pictures of the little one with someone's digital, so I should be able to post them tomorrow.
