I am totally confused. I have an adult pair of bci and niether of them want to eat right now. both of these animals were previously really good aggresive eaters. Now, I'm lucky if they'll eat more than once every three weeks. Yesterday the male started to eat a jumbo rat, but spit it back out just before he had it down. The female just refuses time after after time and she's starting to lose wieght now. I am really frustrated about this. I have a pair of juvenille pastel bci as well and they are both eating regularlly. any ideas on what the problem could be would be greatly appreciated thank you,

1.2 greek tort

Maybe have the vet check a stool sample for parasites.This will
cause them not to eat.

Or it could just be the breeding season. Some (not all) snakes will go off feed for a while.

My Male is actually doing the same thing! He was ALWAYS an agressive eater & would've eaten me out of house and home if I would've let him. I didn't think he would be doing this since he is only approx 38 inches long, and an early '03 (I think). I know its frustrating, but you have to be patient. I have had the all clear for my male from my herp vet...no parasites, perfectly healthy. *Sighz* Just keep trying!
