I could have sworn that I've seen people mention the ZooMed ReptiSun 8.0 on here, but after a discussion on another forum I went to double check and I can't find one anywhere. Was I imagining things? Does ZooMed make a ReptiSun 8.0?

Yes they do

supposedly its better for desert reptiles, the 5.0 is being promoted up here in canada as an iguana light while the 8.0 is for reptiles that have a higher UV demand (ie desert reptiles that are in the sun all day long) haven't tried it yet though although i'm going to be picking one up in 2 or 3 weeks

That's what I hear, but where do you find it? ZooMed doesn't mention it on their website. It would be great if I could see it on a website somewhere so I know I'm not crazy. (people keep thinking I've confused it with the ReptiGlow 8.0, but I'm sure I didn't, unless whoever told me about it accidentally typed RpetiSun when they meant to type ReptiGlow.)

lol now you've got me thinking I might be confusing it with reptiglow....

I'll have to check tomorrow...

I bought a reptisun 10.0 from reptiledirect about a month ago. Its not a strip light though. It fits in a reg dome light fixture.

yes they do make reptisun 8.0 i have it and it works great.

Where did you buy it? Is there somewhere online I can see it for sale with my own eyes? ZooMed's website only mentions the 2.0 and 5.0.

I did a search for Reptisun 8.0 and have seen many posts about it. I have a feeling that the original Reptisun 8.0 may now be called Reptisun 10.0, here is a link to a place that sells the 10.0. It looks like them energy saver bulbs for your house, It fits in a standard screw in socket. heres the link hope it helps.
Reptisun 10.0

I currently use a ReptiGlo 8.0 not a Reptisun and they work awsome. ExoTerra (Hagen) makes the Reptiglo line which ranges from a 2.0-8.0. The Reptisun line is made by Zoomed and go's from a 5.0 florecent to a 10.0 copactflorecent. I guess zoomed just wanted to be more competitive with Hagen and made the 10.0 to try and out sell their 8.0. This is just what I think.

I have only heard of the Repti-Glo 8.0 tube made by Exo-Terra. I have been using one for over a year now (not the same tube, I change every 9 months). I find it works much better than the repti-glo 5.0. I don't think ZooMed made any ReptiSun 8's to my knowledge. You could send an email to ZooMed inquiring about it. I am sure they have a contact link for questions on their website. You could also check their FAQ list as well.
