bookem699 Aug 11, 2004 07:54 AM

i am looking to get a western hognose, but don't want to get it at a pet store. is it safe to buy from a private breeder online? i have owned snakes before but never bought one online. what things or signs should i look for when buying a snake online?

I've bought both my snakes from breeders through the internet. A reputable breeder should be able to answer any questions you throw at them. They should be well spoken, and clear on their terms/methods of shipping/payments. They should provide a picture and feeding/shed schedule of the snake you want to buy.

Of course there is a possibility you can get swindled, but just use your best judgement and you should do ok.
